Excite recently posted a poll and discussion group about whether the 10 Commandments should be placed in school. Silly me got involved with some intelligent points and discussion. Oh the wrath of the Religious Right as befallen me.
I’ve recently come of mind that I am more of an Atheist than anything. I know that may not be a popular sentiment among some reading this, but I do not see the logic in, nor the proof of an almighty being (whether it be named God, Allah, or The Great Pumpkin). I am happy with who I am and what I believe, and I do not need some organization or book telling me how I should act, and for what I should feel guilty about.
Well, I posted to this discussion in an intelligent manner. Here’s a summary of what I said:

It’s about time I got around to ranting on this. Boy bands. The Backdoor Boys. N’Suck. What the fuck? (Ooh, that rhymed!) This whole trend is just something my poor mind can’t comprehend. I could put together a boy band (not with me in it) and become a millionaire!
So here it is. The fictional four member boy band Hot:

I read an article today that really made me realize how great the Internet is, and how these people who want to control it and are worried about it’s content need to wake up. The article, entitled “The Web is wonderful for kids”, cited a recent survey by the National School Boards Foundation, which found that kids who use the Internet spend more time reading book and newspapers, and less time watching TV! That’s amazing. Here’s this tool that so many people were afraid was going to turn our kids into socially inverted, hermit-like porn freaks - instead, it’s actually made many kids read more, desire to learn more, and watch less television (which can cause serious harm if kids are allowed to see Regis Philbin 5 times a week).
The study also makes a great point to counter the arguments that state that the Internet is making people spend less time with others. It states that many users (kids and adults alike) use chat rooms and instant messaging to connect with others, not to avoid others. The rising popularity of instant messaging services seems to support this claim.

Okay, that was a really cheap, bad, stupid joke (the General Stuff). I just put that in ’cause this update will have some general rantings, and I was trying to be cute. Guess it didn’t work
I bought three new CDs recently. I’ll do a quick review of each one in this update. All are pretty good, so check out the reviews.

Yeah yeah yeah. I know. So much for daily or even weekly updates. End of the quarter at school really got me, and then I had to move to Indy and get settled into the new apartment and new routine. But here I am, in the “big city.” I’m living in northern Indianapolis now in the Nora area. Nice place too. Great rent, good area of town, and a 10 - 15 minute drive to work. Can’t ask for much more.
I made it out of last quarter okay. All A’s and a B+. I’m very happy with the results. Had to work my ass off at the end of the quarter (especially writing that Managerial Economics paper - got an A on that). Unfortunately the A on the Managerial paper wasn’t enough to raise my class grade to an A, but a B+ is close enough.
