Have you been watching the Olympics? Me neither. LOL Actually, I’ve been watching it a little bit. I hate NBC’s “plausibly
live” crap. I understand the tiem difference, but when watching sports, I want to watch it live. When I hear all of the results
already on TV or on-line, it takes all of the fun out of it and the anticipation. They should show some live events in the morning
anyway.

I use this chat program called Odigo because it works with ICQ, Yahoo and
AIM and you can search for people by interests adn stuff. But unfortunately, as people come to the service, so do the morons.
Today, I had an interaction with one such person. He was a spammer telling me of a great opportunity!

I’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon among some CS majors - usually the type that can re-write Windows in their sleep and actually dream in Perl or something. They get offended by code. If someone says a piece of code or an operating system or a programming language can do something, and another disagrees with them, they will actually get indignant and pissy! It’s really very very interesting. I mean, it’s just a computer!!!! It’s not life. It’s not all that important. That’s why I’m glad I’m not as very good programmer. Because if I was, I’d probably be like that too, and I don’t want to be that way.

Beginning on Monday, 9/11, I’ll be starting my radio show on WMHD 90.5FM. That’s the Rose-Hulman radio station which I am a part of. SO if you are in the Terre Haute, Indiana area, tune in at 10pm on Mondays and Tuesdays for the best radio in Terre Haute. Well, at least it’s better than 100.7 or 107.5. (more…)

Yeah, okay, it’s 4am, so this is just a quick addendum to yesterday’s update. Just wanted to tell all my faithful readers (Hahahahaha!!) that I updated my photo gallery with some new pictures I took at Fairbanks Park here in Haute. Ther’s okay. The fountain pictures are the best, especially the second one. That’s almost it for this quick mini-update.

So much for updating this more and finishing some sections of this site I wanted to do. Oh well. Classes are definitely going to be keeping me busy, that’s for sure. Software Verification is going to be very interesting, but I’m not sure yet how hard it is going to be. It could either be “easy” (as much as that applies to a Rose-Hulman class) or a total bitch. Probability and Statistics will be very hard I think. It’s been way too long since I’ve done much of that stuff. The prof is a wierd one too. He flies through the stuff that’s hard, but then spends alot of time on things that are obvious. Like the probability of an event not occuring is one minus the probability of it occuring. Wow! That’s amaizingly… obvious.
