Well, here’s the first time I’ve used my web update utility from somewhere besides my own server. Cooooool.

I was a boob again this weekend. Kyleane and I were supposed to get together Friday night but stuff came up for her and I had another one of those stupid panic attacks where I get all worried that ’something is going on’ or whatever. I let it build all weekend. It got really bad. I mostly get worried that I’ll be left for some other guy or that she’s already seeing another guy. Thing is, I know she wouldn’t do that, but considerint my past experiences with my few girlfriends, I worry. (All of them ended up leaving me for someone else or even already started seeing them before we broke up). SO you can see where my worry stems from, even though it is irrational.

Anyway, I saw a really strange sight this morning. My apartment complex’s buildings have the typical high peaked roofs. Two story buildings. Normal stuff. Most mornings, on top o fthe building across the way, a bird sits up there chirping its ass off. Annoying little thing. Anyway, this morning I am getting into my car and I hear a goose. Two of them in fact. Normally I just hear them out back on the pond, not out front. I turn around to see if I find it, and what do I see? Two geese perched up on top of the apartment building across the road honking away and strutting along the top of the building. How strange. I wonder if they got down? Not that I care. I had a real “you know you’re getting old when” moment yesterday. I was driving home when I saw a car with a bunch of bumper stickers. You know you’re getting old when the bumper stickers are all for your local alternative/modern rock station except for the one that says “my child is an honor student at…” As Keanu Reeves would say, “Woah.”

I saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon yesterday for the first time. I know, I know, it took me long enough. Anyway, that movie kicks ass. It’s got everything - action, adventure, love, beautiful scenery, amazing effects, great story. The more I think about it, and as much as I loved Gladiator, I think it should have won the Oscar for best picture. If you haven’t seen this movie, go see it now!

Well, I guess in this day and age of “I’ve got a great idea” actually meaning “Hey, here’s another way to rip off suckers.”, I guess this was inevitable. Smart toast. That’s right. Smart fucking toast. This guy in England has developed a toaster that will get online, get the weather, then as it toasts your morning bread, browns an image of today’s weather on your toast. Cloudy, sunny or rainy. I’m not kidding. He wants to develop it further to “be able to burn weather maps, short text messages and even adverts on to bread.” Advertisements? On my morning bread? Why God why?! How many people are so damn lazy they won’t read a newspaper, turn on a TV, get online, or just look the hell outside to find out the weather?! And advertisements, well, that’s just too much. What next, english muffins that double as CDs?

I think Armegeddon has already happened. We are smack dab in the middle of it. The rest of the day I’m going to have “smart toast” going through my head. Oh well. I guess it could be worse. If it was 2 years ago, this guy could have started www.weathertoast.com and already be a multi-millionaire.

OKay, so I’m doing my daily catch up on the news thing, and I run across this
gem of an article. Basically, the crazy wackos that are PETA
wrote Timothy McVeigh, the guy responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing, to ask him to become a vegan. Why? Why would they do this? Can you think of any
logical explanation? Then McVeigh responds to them. He says stuff like “I cannot sustain a prolonged intellectual debate on the subject as my time is
short, but I suggest hitting Ted Kaczynski up for his opinions on the subject.” He tells them to go check with the Unabomber?! He also makes a comment
about understanding their cause because he “has seen slaughterhouses” but still beleives in eating meat. He’s seen slaughterhouses? About he created one.
I don’t know which I find more distasteful, McVeigh’s comment’s or the fact that PETA even wrote him in the first place.

I’m headed to another Indians game Tuesday. Going with Kyleane this time. Well, we’re going if
it isn’t to freakin’ cold out. It was in teh 80’s here for awhile (way above normal) and now it’s dropped to the 40’s and a chance of snow
flurries tonight. Damn you Mother Nature you mood swinging bitch! Umm, sorry about that. I just don’t like it when weather does this.
Anyway, if we don’t go to the game, we’ll probably go to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, which
is something like the largest children’s museum in the world. I haven’t been there in ages, and I remember all sorts of cool fun stuff that
would be cool even though I’m 23. I’ll keep ya posted.

I’ve got a big important meeting today in about 45 minutes or so at work. It’s with a couple product managers and hopefully we’ll be sorting
out some more details on our requirements here for a future release. It’s a big deal, and my first important meeting. WIsh me luck.
My real job has actually started the past two weeks. I’m nervous and excited to be doing it all at the same time.
