A pretty somber update…
I went to Van Wert, Ohio today for my Aunt Pam’s funeral. She was my mom’s brother’s wife. I haven’t really seen her in quite awhile since they moved to Florida about 10 years ago, but I still have good memories of her when she’d visit Indiana with the family or we’d go to Ohio or the year we spent Christmas in Florida with them. She always seemed to be happy and very caring.

Dig Doug, one of my few regular readers, posted this in a comment on one of my entries the other day and I just have to share. this site has a large collection of war posters that are either veyr anti-war, very sarcastically pro war, or just all around great messages in the style of the old WWII war posters. You have to go through them all. They’re excellent!!!

I get dragged back in by the stupidity of the American Government. It seems it is now illegal to take pictures. Well, at least take pictures of important things. A photographer was taking a picture of a statue near a bridge in NYC. He was then detained, questioned, and told he could not take pictures of the statue because it is near a bridge. I guess they say terrorists take pictures of targets, so to stop terrorism, we’ll stop anyone from taking pictures? Story here.

Man, I’ve been really burnt out on stuff lately. I’ve even been neglecting to call people I should. Like last night, I TOTALLY forgot to call Kyleane. I got to watching The West Wing premiere and just blanked. PLus, I need to try and call Miriam (someone I went to high school with that I ran into a few weeks ago). I tried calling her a few days after I ran into her but she never returned my call. PLus.. I’ve just been burnt out on writing on the site. There’s so much I can bitch about and write about. Just haven’t felt like it. Guess it’s just one of the down times. I’ll be back to my old never shutting up self soon, I’m sure.

I know I said I probably wouldn’t update anymore today, but this one is too good not to. Yet anothe rway to point out the underhandedness and deceipt that is typical of Republican politicians. Lawyer Ken Nunn of Bloomington had two messages from Congressman Tom DeLay (R-Texas) saying he was goign to get an “honorary” business leadership award. When he called back, it turns out that it wasn’t DeLay’s office. It was a telemarketing firm in Ohio. And that award, welll… they want him to donate $300 for a newspaper ad. Of course just 20% goes toward the ad. The rest goes into DeLay’s campaing coffers. Read all about it here.

I would laugh more if this wasn’t something I bet Bush has or is doing also. One of the numbers the reporter got when they tried the number was for the national Republican Party. *sigh….*

Gonna be a busy day. This’ll be my only update more than likely. So while I’m away, you should go listen to this song. Give it time, it starts off a little lame. And turn the volume up. It’s a little soft.

Hehehehe this is kinda funny in a scary way. For years, the Republicans have been shouting from the rooftops about how we should privatize social security. For those of you not paying attention, that means putting your social security funds in the stock market. Wellll now that the economy is tanking, all the GOP shysters are saying how they nevvvvver supported privatization. Of course they are lieing.

I’m a basketball fan. I have been born and raised in central Indiana, Land Of Hoops. Land of Milan High School, Hoosiers, Oscar Robertson, Rick Mount, Larry Bird, IU, Purdue, and basketball stories turned to legend over the years. And as a life long hoops fan, I have this to say:
