How’s it going? Not much here now that most of my stuff is done. Turned in the keys to my old apartment this morning. Kinda sad leaving that place really. It was neat. Small. REALLY small. But neat. And it got me through a tough time while I was laid off. Cheap Rent = Good For Laid Off Persons. But now my new place is more super keener (hooray for my good english heh) and I’ll really try and get some pictures of the new place put up soon. Promise.

well, it’s been another busy day. Work has just been crazy busy, but at least that means I have some job security (I hope… knock on wood). Headed to get a haircut after work then to the old apartment to finish up the cleaning. ALl I need to do is clean the bathroom and cart out the last of my stuff - my old computer case and mobo, a window air conditioner unit, a bucket and a mop, a large cardboard cutout of Darth Maul (yes I am a dork), stuff still in the freezer there, and some dishes I left there. Big Fun Will Be Had.
Got lotsa links for ya. Decided to take a break from work and pass them on to all my loyal readers.
Despot or Sexpot? Can you tell just from the mustache?
Save the Preconceived Babies. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people actually believed this. After all, every sperm is sacred!
have NO IDEA why I just typed that for the title. I need Serious Help(tm)(r)(c)(fu)(man)(chu).
I’m in an odd mood today, can’t you tell? This is such a busy week for me.

found a great essay on why nerds are unpopular. It’s by a guy named Paul Graham, and seriously, this essay should be required reading for all parents of teenage children. It totally explains some of the feelings and reasons and absurdity of life in American secondary schools. Maybe if everyone read this and understood the problem, something could be done. An interesting point made in teh essay is that the failure of the American school system and the miserable lives of nerds go hand in hand.
Anyway, go read it. It’s really long, but really, really good. Wish I would have had that kind of knowledge when I was in school. WOuld have made things much easier. I think one of the big problems when I was growing up was that I went to such a small school I really didn’t have any other nerds to hang out with and comisserate with….. I think that’s why I’m still pretty lonely. I’m bad at making friends, even with other ‘nerds’….
Hmm well anyway, it’s an interesting read.
Know all the big protests over the weekend? Well, organizers in New York City were trying to get a permit to march through the streets. But the city government kept denying it for no good reason. Even the city police said they had no good reason to expect violence.
Well, organizers went to court to try and get their permit and guess who filed a brief with the court urging the judges to uphold the permit denial? The Bush administration.

Go watch this great video about the worldwide protests that took place on Saturday. There was even one in Indy, but I had to work at ESPN950 during it so I couldn’t go. But, lucky for me, the protest was on the circle and I could watch it from the radio station. There was a good 500-700 people there (which is impressive given how conservative Indiana is). Millions and millions of people marched worldwide to oppose this unneeded war being pushed onto the world by Bush & Co. I think there’s another day of protest scheduled for March 1st. I’m going to try and get the day off work, or at least get out early enough to go to it.
If I could, I’d travel to DC for the BIG march that’s going on there on March 1st.
You are one courageous politician. I wish more politicians, especially in our national government, had the courage to say what you did on the Senate floor. You echo the feelings of MANY Americans that are ignored or marginalized by the corporate press.
Read Senator Byrd’s speech now. This is required reading for everyone.
