1) I miss a time where the worst thing that happened to me was Optimus Prime dieing in the Transformers Movie. That was devastating, but in retrospect so… unimportant. Now there’s things like illness, bills, etc to worry about.
2) I miss the yearly family vacations to places like the Space Coast in Florida, Yellowstone, Minnesota or Canada. For most every year I lived with my parents we had a yearly vacation to somewhere. Now, being all grown up I realize how tough that probably was for them because I see how tough it is just for Kelly and I to go somewhere.
3) I miss little league baseball. I was horrible at it, but then that really didn’t matter. I still remember clearly my in the park home run, which is one of my favorite memories as a kid.
4) I miss Boy Scouts and the camping trips once a month and summer camp.
5) I miss my grandpa (mother’s father). He died when I was around late elementary/junior high. All the stories I have heard about him and what I remember of him I would have loved to hang out with him now, as an adult. Share a beer, show off my car (he loved cars) and connect with him as an adult.
Well, that got sappier than I expected.
