Ooooh what a list! A defunct band that I dug, the King of Spaghetti Western Composers, a wierd rock rap band for Iceland, a crazy old funk/R&B singer & the song that’s a cover of the song that should have won an award for best Unintentional Euphemism.
Most Favorite: Very tough one from this list. I think I’m going with L’Arena by Ennio Morricone just to be different. And because I love Ennio Morricone’s music.
Least Favorite: the Quarashi track, Bless. I used to dig them but they just didn’t have alot of staying power in my collection. It’s not bad just…eh.
As if I didn’t have enough to do and wasn’t busy enough with The Godfather game, I find out that Kingdom Hearts 2 is out now. Damn!
Update: Oh shit! It has a Pirates of the Carribean (the movie) level, a Steamboat Willie level, and a TRON LEVEL!!!
Well, I learned one of the costs of Indiana’s new Voter ID law that lays its heaviest burdens on the poor, elderly and homeless. It was only $10 to me, but what about people for whom $10 is their food for the week, or they need that $10 to make rent, or pay for gas to get to work? What about othe rfees like getting copies of other identification needed to get the ID?
Anyway, it cost me $10 because I needed to update my voter registration AND my driver’s license since my voter reg was at my last address and my driver’s license was from a few apartments ago. Since you can’t renew your license unless you are within 6 months of it expiring, I had to pay $10 for a change of address (and then I’ll have to pay more for the actual renewal in November).
Just because I want to vote in the May primary without some GOP poll watcher with a stick up his ass complaining my ID and voter reg don’t work, I had to pay $10. Poll tax anyone?
This is too perfect.
NEW YORK - In the largest study of its kind, researchers found that having people pray for heart bypass surgery patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly higher rate of complications.
Heh. Yeah, so if I ever get sick, don’t pray for me. Seriously. I don’t want to get worse.
Via Crooked Timber and an IM from CJ.
I upgraded the photo gallery to Gallery 2.0. Actually I had to do a whole new install. The old data is still there in the old directory but any access to /gallery/ should forward you to /photos/.
Gallery 2.0 is light years better than the original gallery. Really slick. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Also, I set up a gallery for my sister for pictures of her trip to Europe. It’s not filled out yet, and I may or may not post a link to it depending on what she says.
Final Four weekend schedule.
This weekend is going to be HUGE in Indy, especially downtown. I’d like to hit some of the concerts and events. The ones I want to see….
Saturday
Free concert on the circle. 11am
The acts don’t look that hot except local The BoDeans might be alright. But still, thousands of people crowding the circle for a free concert? cool.
“World’s Largest Pepe Rally” 3pm
On the cirlce, too. Cheerleaders, pep bands, mascots and all that fun. Also the games will be shown on the video boards aroudn the circle. Cool.
Sunday
Free John Mellencamp (and others) concert on the circle. 2pm
I don’t give a rat’s ass about American Idol Carrie Underwood, but a free chance to see John Mellencamp is impossible to pass up. Also Collective Soul will be cool.
I think I’m going to try to be downtown on the circle all day on Sunday for the free concerts, and want to try and make the Sautrday stuff too.
If anyone else is going to be down there let me know in the comments.
Someone at work told me about this band, Mindless Self Indulgence. Pretty cool mix of rock, punk and some electronic bloops and bleeps. I’m digging it. And their bass player is smokin’ hot.
I know that this is a day+ late, but it bears repeating: John McCain is NOT a moderate. He will be giving a commencement speech at Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University.
Cool, the Colts have started a podcast. The first episode has interviews with Dungy, new kicker Adam Vinatieri and soem other stuff. (Update: Righ tnow only a “preview” is available. The first episode comes Friday 3/31)
The Eels are going on tour this summer and will be in Indy on June 9th (a Friday) at The Vogue. Who’s going with me, because I’m sure as hell not missing it.
