Cool! Dark Matter!

Dark matter exists, which is really quite rad.

Unpopular Governor

Mitchie Rich Daniels is the 4th least popular governor in the United States at 39%.

The internals are even more interesting. Women hate him (33%) but for some reason the 18-34 bracket is still above 40% (41%). Guess some of them still like their free (made in Mexico) green shirts.

His strongest race is Hispanic (46%), although that could be an anomaly of sample size (3%).

Republicans still like him alright (60%) althoguh not a big number. I want to meet the Democrats that like him (24%), and he’s doign pretty poorly among Indies (38%), an important segment in Indiana.

Conservatives seem relatively happy (61%) but Moderates (33%) and Liberals (25%) are none too happy.

he does better as years of education go up, but that could also be a factor of doign better as income goes up.

Regular churchgoers are under 50% (49%) and he’s at only 54% of pro life, while pro-choice is at 27%.

Northern indiana despises him (28%), no suprise given Major Moves and the other region most affected by Major Moves, southern Indiana, isn’t a big fan either (38%). He’s most popular in Indianapolis (57%) which really suprises me but that might have something to do with the state work on the Colts stadium and convention center.

All in all Daniels is pretty damn unpopular right now. Who’s going to step up to the plate to challenge him in ‘08?

Exactly

“Edgerrin James is going to miss the Colts a lot more than the Colts are going to miss Edgerrin James.” Exactly.

Madden 07

This is the first year in 5 years I’m not buying Madden when it comes out. I’m waiting for November when I hopefully buy an XBox 360.

Do you watch live TV anymore?

Interest story on Ars about how a study shows that most DVR users still watch live TV. That’s interesting, because I’d say 75% of my TV watching is no longer live thanks to my Tivo. Hm.

Busy busy busy

I’m crazy super busy at work lately, so posting will continue to be light for probably the next week or so. Hopefully things will calm down by the weekend.

Lame

How about we name it ‘Lame’? Update: Horrible pun not intended. Unless they stink it up this season.

Sarah Fisher comign back to IRL

Sarah Fisher is comign back to teh IRL, at least for one race. I always really liked her and I hope she can pick up a permenant ride again in the series. And most people don’t know she stil holds the record for highest finish by a woman in Indy cars, a second place finish in 2001.

Dear Bjork, Can I Live With You?

Via an IM from CJ… a wholly depressing statistic. Pacific Views: Charles Darwin really needs a posse in the US. Yup. That’s the US, second to last from the bottom of this list of nations and their belief of evolution. Right above Turkey and below Cyprus.

From the original article:

Among the factors contributing to America’s low score are poor understanding of biology, especially genetics, the politicization of science and the literal interpretation of the Bible by a small but vocal group of American Christians, the researchers say.

“American Protestantism is more fundamentalist than anybody except perhaps the Islamic fundamentalist, which is why Turkey and we are so close,” said study co-author Jon Miller of Michigan State University.

Iceland was at #1. So… Bjork, you have an extra room I can crash in? This anti-science sentimentality here is starting to drive me nuts.
